Feeding and discharging process of bucket elevator

Continuous discharge hopper of bucket elevator includes an endless chain or chain ring. It is on between the machine head component and the tail assembly, in self-supporting casing running.
buckets are arranged on the chain belt or the chain is tightly spaced, for vertical material transportation.

Solve Uneven Rotating Speed of Bucket Elevator Problem

1. Base frame blockage
The reason is feeding prior to start-up, the bucket belt lacks of tension which will cause belt skid, or the inflow rate of feeding is greater than the conveying capacity (including excessive of feeding back), as well as bulk materials enter into the base frame. The methods to eliminate the problem is to shut down the machine at once, close the feeding chute, open the base frame gate plate , clear the clogged material, and start up the machine in accordance with procedures. And also adjust the tension device in order to strengthen the clean up speed of anterior materials.
2. Conveying capacity reduces
The reason is due to the skid of the drive belt or lifting belt, insufficient rotating speed of electrical motor, uneven feeding, serious feeding back, unreasonable selection of bucket design. The methods to eliminate the problem is to adjust the tension device, check electrical motor, eliminate the fault, feed evenly, identify the cause for promptly discharge of material, and select bucket design reasonably.

3. Excessive of material returning back
The reason is the linear speed of belt elevator too fast or too slow, improper design or size of drive head, material discharging in the outlet is not smooth. The methods to eliminate the problem is to adjust the rotating speed of bearing, modify the external dimensions of drive head or adjust the drip plate at the bucket gap, and unblock the outlet.
4. Casing wears seriously and large power consumption
The reason is the installation of bearing tilts, dust deposition on bearing, poor lubrication, bearing failure or elevator belt is too tight, excessive of material returning back, blockage of base frame. The methods to eliminate the problem is to readjust, clean or change the lubricating oil, replace the bearing and adjust it properly. Identify the cause for promptly discharge of material, and clear the clogged materials.

Troubleshooting of Abnormal Noise during the Operation of Bucket Elevator

1. The base plate and chain bucket of bucket elevator collide with each other: adjust the take-up device of base in order to stretch the chain.
2. The driving shaft and driven shaft key is flabby, the sprocket is drift, chain bucket collides with casing: the position of sprocket needs to be adjusted and the key needs to be stretched.
3. The guide plate collides with chain bucket: readjust the position of guide plate.

4. There are some materials mingled in the guide plate and chain bucket: enlarge the inputs angle of material inside the base.
5. The failure bearing causes inflexible operation of bucket elevator: the bearing need to be replaced.
6. The pieces of materials or other objects stuck in the casing: stop the operation of bucket elevator and remove the materials. 
7. Gear profile of sprocket (driving and driven sprocket) is abnormal: correct the gear profile of sprocket or replaced driving sprocket. 
8. Gear profile of driving sprocket and chain is out of order: the sprocket gear profile needs to be corrected. 
9. Drive chain idling: adjust the length of chain.
10. The casing is not installed properly: the full length of vertical alignment of casing needs to be adjusted.

Bucket Elevator Dust Explosion

Bucket elevator  is widely applied in industrial and agricultural production. In the process of loading materials, the buckets of bucket elevator will strike on the material at a higher speed, which causes a great friction and impulsive force on materials, and will result friction between materials . Hence, the dust material dust will be blown out. When unloading the materials, materials will be thrown from the bucket, which also cause the dust blowing out. In order to control the dust leakage, bucket elevator works under the condition of completely sealed , the enclosed space virtually increased the risk of explosion. Although the bucket elevator is worked in a sealed condition, the casing is not very tight, the air can enter through the connector and inlet port. Therefore, there is presence of large amounts of oxygen in the internal. When there is a fire, it can generate dust explosions. Bucket elevator can create dust explosion may be due to undesirable of machine operation, where there is high possibility of creating a spark. The main reason is as follows: (1 ) if particle flow contains metallic impurities, it may collide and rub with the bucket in the process of the flowing, this will create spark. (2) if belt deviation occurs and rubs with casing, it may produce spark, so in order to prevent the sparks, it is better to use the chain bucket elevator. (3) when buckets or screw fall off, it can produces sparks when rub with other components. (4) when bearing overheats or belt skid for a long period, it can achieve ignition point of dust explosion. (5) the open flames enters, igniting dust explosion etc..
